Holly

She found the industry focused a lot on the physical being and struggled with an eating disorder in her early teens. When she turned to yoga, she loved that there was a deeper connection to the inner self and ever since then has been obsessed with the practise and the way it makes her and other people feel. Before her trip to Bali to do her Yin teacher training, Holly only did power yoga and vinyasa (anything to get the heart rate going) and since then, she’s found the importance of having balance. The Yin and Yang. Not only in her practise and teaching but in daily life too.

What do you have for breakfast in the morning?

Porridge, beans on toast, or if I’m feeling bougie smoked salmon with cream cheese on a bagel.

What is the first thing you do every morning to start your day the best way?

Drink lots of water and stretch.

What would you write on a billboard in the centre of your city?

How are you? A lot of the time we’re always asking others how they’re feeling, but not very often do we check in with ourselves.

Do you have rituals that help you feel more confident with yourself?

I journal, to understand myself more and to write words of affirmations.

What comes to your mind when you think of the word ‘success’?

Success to me is feeling happy to wake up everyday doing what you love and having loving family and friends around you.

If you were invited to speak at a conference and you didn't have to talk about your work, what would you talk about?

I would talk about women empowerment and/or how to help spot the signs of teenagers getting through stresses they go through growing up with mental health.

Is there anything you believe in that other people find crazy?

I believe in aliens and that there’s a higher power of some form.

What human characteristic most appeals to you?

Someone being funny. A sense of humour lightens any situation and who doesn’t love to laugh!

Do you tend to choose courage or comfort?

Courage. It always pays off. Going through something uncomfortable always makes things better on the other side.

If you could change your job for a day, what would you become?

I’d be an animal rescuer

Do you have any favourite podcasts? Which ones would you suggest?

"Diary of a CEO" for all things business, "Happy place" for celebrities talking about their setbacks and mental health and "The girls bathroom" hearing about relationship advice to girls or boys that wrote to them. Perfect if you fancy a giggle!

Describe your practice in three words.

Intuitive, intentional and mindful.
