Monica

She left Fashion to dedicate herself to physical and mental wellbeing, becoming a Pilates and yoga teacher. She loves teaching Pilates because it is a precise, gentle and effective movement, because it tones every muscle involved and shapes the body without increasing muscle mass.

What do you have for breakfast in the morning?

COFFEE! Lots of coffee, almond yoghurt, fruit, toast and jam.

What is the first thing you do every morning to start your day the best way?

I turn on the music, it can be jazz or meditative, it depends on the mood of the day. I prepare breakfast and write down in my diary the good resolutions for the day and other positive thoughts that I try to carry with me throughout the day.

What would you write on a billboard in the centre of your city?

A message encouraging people to be open-minded and kind to others.

Do you have rituals that help you feel more confident with yourself?

The yoga practice I have built up.

What comes to your mind when you think of the word ‘success’?

Smile. I believe that being successful, achieving one's success is the greatest satisfaction one can have.

If you were invited to speak at a conference and you didn't have to talk about your work, what would you talk about?

I would like to talk about the beauty of change.

Is there anything you believe in that other people find crazy?

When I was a kid I thought that eating broccoli made you smarter because its shape reminded me of the shape of your brain. I believe in even numbers, everything always has to be even: the volume of the television, the things on my plate, the books in the bookcase at home.

What human characteristic most appeals to you?

Brilliance. It can be in the way you speak, move, work or other details. But let it be something that makes you stand out in a crowd.
